Harper Government

Our government exposes itself

“We will purchase the F-35. We’re on record. We’re part of the crusade. We’re not backing down.”

— Julian Fantino, associate minister of national defence, Fort Worth, Texas, Nov. 8, 2011.

Critics of a bill that would give law enforcement new powers to access Canadians’ electronic communications are aligning themselves with child pornographers, Canada’s public safety minister says.

“He can either stand with us or with the child pornographers,” Vic Toews said of Liberal public safety critic Francis Scarpaleggia during question period on Monday, after Scarpaleggia asked about a bill expected to be tabled Tuesday.

“Unfortunately, there are environmental and other radical groups that would seek to block this opportunity to diversify our trade…

“These groups threaten to hijack our regulatory system to achieve their radical ideological agenda. They seek to exploit any loophole they can find, stacking public hearings with bodies to ensure that delays kill good projects. They use funding from foreign special interest groups to undermine Canada’s national economic interest…”

Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources Joe Oliver.

“…violence by domestic issued-based groups remains a reality in Canada. Such extremism tends to be based on grievances—real or perceived—revolving around the promotion of various causes such as… environmentalism…”

  1. The most important, and the most telling quote came from the PM himself:

“You won't recognize Canada when I get through with it”

He warned Canadians, yet for some reason he still won the majority needed to make his quote a reality.

That says a lot about him – it says even more about us.

  2. An interesting article found on Macleans website, regarding a letter written by Stephen Harper (then in Alberta) commenting on the rest of Canada.

Interesting and despite what Harper says, this letter shows he is working for Alberta (and China) and not for the betterment of Canada.

    Check out the link:

I am sure that Stephen Harper would prefer that this letter not be publicized.

    Thanks

  3. An excellent and illuminating potpourri of recent quotes – of course they are going in this direction to correct the problem an earlier quote pointed out – when Harper went on and on as a private citizen speaking before a conservative group about Canada being a third rate socialist country.

  4. The Northern Foundation Party, was founded by Harper. He is a Reformer, not a Conservative. Harper's shady Party was started in, 1989. Deb Grey said, Herr Harper is still a Reformer. His Northern Foundation Party, is his guideline.

Dictators are always paranoid and frantic to control, absolutely every thing they get their hands on….They don't feel safe unless they do. The media are Harper's propaganda machine. The only way citizens learn the truth, is on the internet. Harper hates his dastardly deeds being exposed on the web. Harper is now, having many secret meetings behind closed doors.

That Harper's ministers, rant and rave is also typical in a dictatorship. Why would anyone support a monster such as Harper? The horrific mess Harper has got Canada into, is the worst mess I can remember in all my years.

Harper is banned from, The Trans Pacific Trade Group. Harper lost Canada's seat in the U.N. Canada is being shunned, because of Harper.

  5. What I find frightening is how since obtaining a Majority in The House of Commons the actions of the Stephen Harper led Conservative Government are starting to resemble the actions of the government of Germany of the 1930's ( anybody who doesn't agree with them is labeled an enemy of the people) just before Kristallnacht “The night of broken glass”. I suppose we can take solace in the fact that the majority of Harper's support ( and I use the term loosely )is from middle aged or older people and not the youth of this Nation.

  6. Heh, normally you “stand behind” someone, but Baird is saying in front. Let's hope Baird doesn't position us to get stabbed in the back.

  7. Barking mad. I'm saddened by it, but not in the least surprised. Lots of indications of the way the wind was blowing prior to the last election. The question is, what is to be done about it now?

  8. Yeah, environmentalists are radical extremist terrorists, according to the Conservative Party of Canada. Maybe those labels apply to Harper's gang instead.

  9. Isn't it passing strange that a goodly number of con mp caucus members are concerned about this bill.

Are they ,other than being cons, right thinking individuals, like most Canadians, or, given the temper of their government, are they fearful that this bill may have embarrassing repercussions for themselves if they become the object of internet surveillance?

This toying with the idiocy of Toews should be fair warning that barroom doors swing both ways.

Right John, Jason, Tony, Kevin, Pierre……?

  10. If it wasn't so serious it would be hilarious.
A G8 country making ludicrous statements and acting like a “radical extreme right wing nation” who is intent on calling anyone who questions their view, as being evil and pro crime.

That sure sounds like EXTREME RELIGIOUS BORN AGAIN PROPAGANDA to me.

It is no surprise that the public (probably 20 – 30 year age group) TWEETED “Sticky Vicky” over his hypocritical views and actions. The best bit is that it made our opinionated Minister of Trade almost insane – grrrrrrrrrrr!

What a bunch of losers run by out so called christian Stephen Harper – DICK-TATOR IN CHIEF” for Canada – an extreme ring wing relious nut to boot as well!

Oh and by the way, from what I read, this so called “child pornography bill” has nothing to do with protecting children – it is all about spying on the people of Canada as if they are all terrorists !!

I question the sanity of Stephen Harper if he thinks he can get away with this sort of bullsh*t.

A word of advise to the government – you ain't seen nothing yet. Social media is here to stay and look what it has done in the middle east. Does Canada want to be the next nation to have a serious uprising ????? Treat your citizens with the respect they deserve and listen to the people who elected you into office. If you don't your private lives will probably become public – starting with Vic Toews sleeping with his baby sitter whilst being married – no mention of sitters age that I could see !!!!

    Nuff said for now !

    Thanks
