Harry Reid: Bain Investor Told Me That Mitt Romney ‘Didn’t Pay Any Taxes For 10 Years’, Huffington Post, July 31, 2012
WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has what he says is an informed explanation for why Mitt Romney refuses to release additional tax returns. According a Bain investor, Reid charged, Romney didn’t pay any taxes for 10 years.

Clint Eastwood managed to fool me. I thought he cared, but it appears he does care– for his assets. Clint is ready to go to his next world, leave his money and assets to his loved ones and screw America by supporting the wrong guy. Self-interest continues to lead to the downfall of humanity.

Yes the powers that be are getting very jumpy about civil unrest and anyone posing the possibility that there could be severe public unrest if a certain Mitt gets elected as president. Even the Tyee has censored many posts that alluded to civic unrest if certain conditions arise.
The famous 1% are certainly scared of civil unrest and if there is any doubt just look at all the angst with our Stanley Cup riot last year. Oh the hand wringing; oh the screams of shock and disbelief; oh the collective orgasm when a rioter is sent to jail.
By comparison, there is hardly a murmur from the 1% about the Monty Robinson Affair, where a Mountie is given a slap on the wrist for “Obstruction of Justice” charge, even though the man was responsible for two deaths, one death by drunk driver and the other, death by Tazer, because the cops were too lazy to do anything else.
The judicial dysfunction in Canada is telling of a country ready to slide into the abyss of civil unrest, where the courts treat differently those who are in power or serve those in power.
There are some very powerful people in BC today are getting scare as the great unwashed are demanding change.

Pattison might be a bad example. Sure, he's got business interests all over the map but he's always maintained a large focus on BC and demonstrated willingness to give back earned wealth through philanthropy, particularly to public healthcare. I've talked to people high in his organization and hear that while he's tough and demanding, people are dealt with forthrightly and fairly.
I don't begrudge success and I admire true wealth creation. I oppose anti-social behaviour that aims to gather personal wealth regardless of social cost and cares not about growing the economic pie but gaining only a larger share of it.

Obama graduated Magna Cum Laude, which, according to the Harvard Law School website, is awarded to the top 10% of the school's students. He was also elected President of the Law Review, an honor that the school says is given to a student seen to have great potential for the legal field.

The practice of moving wealth offshore is not limited to the USA.
Here in Nanaimo a local businessman was found to be sending large quantities of cash to the USA ( remember the Ian Thow affair)
I believe that Jimmy Patterson 'resides” in Palm Springs ; I'm quite sure the list is large.

The divide between the rich and poor is growing and has been for some time. Middle class are going down, fast. The breaks given to corporations, banks, the sell off of Canadian citizens' assets are disturbing. The younger folks see what is going on and alot are disgruntled by employers and lack of opportunity. The old saying 'a dime a dozen' seems to be how they are treated. Speak up, disagree with them, gone. There's plenty more where you came from (in their eyes) and even more now with the allowance of the foreign workers program introduced by Stevie and Co. They try and get ahead and give alot, but that doesn't seem to matter. People are angry; young, old, middle class. Trying to make ends meet and you get slammed into another wall, tax, whatever, dig deeper.
Have to agree with 2:32, powder keg waiting to happen.

Is there a tradition of American politicians releasing their college transcripts? If there is, it's been a secret.
The transcripts issue is attractive to conspiracy theorists who claim that Obama is a Muslim Marxist born in Africa, ineligible to be President and not bright enough to have graduated from both Columbia and Harvard.

From what I understand he has provided what is legally called for and could probably provide more, but why should he. Obama on the other hand won't even release his transcripts but that is OK for he most secretive president in history, because the media don't really wish to vet him like they do Romney.
I don't really know a lot about Romney but, I don't think anybody could do a worse job than the empty suit in office now.
I would think Canada might be better off also, with someone else in the white house

And, I am just saying that there is much more evidence on the table about Romney's tax and business practices. Fully exposed, these would almost certainly embarrass his campaign.
Romney could make everything clear if he did what other candidates have done before. Obama released tax returns from 2000 through 2011, Joe Biden from 1998 to 2011. GW Bush and Cheney released from 2000 to 2007. Clinton: eight years. Reagan: six years. Nixon: four years.

Obama's solution of spend spend spend isn't doing him any favours.
But it's not solely his fault the US economy stinks. Dubya can be thanked for getting the long ride downhill started.
However, will all these people with no job and little hope vote for a lily white Mormon one percenter to solve their problems? I don't think so…
If this not paying income tax for 10 years is true, Romney is done…much like his father George and his flip-flopping views on Vietnam that helped hand the presidency to Richard Nixon.

Are you suggesting that Romney is not involved in tax avoidance and that he and his family are not using off-shore tax havens and do not hold secret foreign bank accounts?
Harry Reid's allegation is not indisputable evidence of immoral or unethical behaviour but there is other proof that Romney pays USA income tax at rates below those of fellow Americans who can't afford the luxuries enjoyed by Romney and family.
Republican supporters can try to downplay the issue but it will hurt them in November.

It's a given in Canada.
Harper gives billions of our tax dollars to, banks (that were exposed for their corruption), mines, oil and gas corporations and big business. Harper also gives them huge tax reductions. This was seen on the House of Commons TV channel. They do not pay their share of taxes. Harper only wants, the very wealthy, the very poor and nothing in between.The more wealth Canadian people have, the less taxes they have to pay. A business owner in Vancouver boasted…he pays less income tax than his secretary.
The U.S. being in a state of massive unrest, is no different than Canada. I don't ever remember, the Canadian people as angry as they are now. It feels like we are sitting on a powder keg, waiting for the explosion.

I believe if Romney does win, the USA will be in 4 years of massive civil unrest, unlike any time since the dirty 30's and his election will result in the destruction of the racist far right that is controlling the Republican Party.

If this is true and probably is, then “Mitt the Twit's bid for the presidency is done! Certainly it is a good reason for the “Etch-a-sketch” man not wanting to release is income tax statements going back 10 years.
Evidently, Sen. McCain's people, back in '08 looked at his income tax, when “Mitt the Twit” was vetted for the veep's position; they found it so disturbing that they went with Sarah Palin!
