Mr. James posted a follow-up to the short essay he recently published on Facebook. His first piece was shared tens of thousands of times, but it attracted many hateful responses. According to James, Trump supporters reacted with threats, insults and rage.

Many people favour freedom of speech only when they agree with what is spoken. Commentators on both sides of the political spectrum tend to oppose words that go against their personal values or beliefs.

So, HELLO WORLD…

First of all, I’d like to thank you all for the more than 25 thousand shares of my post about the dictatorship that is being installed right before our very eyes by the second administration of United States President Donald Trump and de facto President Elon Musk.

Your engagement tells me that many of you see precisely what I see and feel exactly as I do.

The story I want to tell today is what I’ve learned from this little social media experiment about what happens when you use supposedly free speech to convey an opinion in today’s America.

Among the thousands of messages I’ve received in the days since making my post, one pattern has clearly emerged above all others:

Angry white men who support Trump have arrived to attack me with threats, insults and rage – all because I have a dissenting opinion from theirs.

To their minds, Trump, Musk and their newly-installed confederates are cleaning up “waste and corruption.”

They are certain of this – despite these mostly wealthy political figures dispassionately tossing thousands of Americans out into the streets without care – all in the name of “draining the swamp.”

Farmers, many who voted for Trump, are losing their farms. Federal workers are being threatened to take buyouts that last through September, as though October, November and the months and years ahead won’t require them to have gainful employment to feed their families.

But somehow, in the minds of these angry white men, I – who they called ignorant, stupid, a democrat communist shill and lowlife – am the REAL problem in this country.

All because I want transparency, respect for law, the constitution and not to see Americans forced into poverty by ridiculously rich leaders who don’t have the financial concerns of the common person.

Lawrence Prevo of Flint, Michigan – the state I grew up in – was particularly vicious with his thoughts about my views, until I told him I would use his messages to me as an example of the evil Trump has normalized in this country and around the world.

First, he threatened to sue me for using the FREE SPEECH Musk ostensibly bought Twitter for to return to conservatives. When that failed, he apologized and wanted to talk respectfully – which is how it should have been from the very beginning.

Now, I am not doxxing Mr. Prevo out of retribution. I’m using him as an example of how misguided we’ve become under the “leadership” of a president who has shown no respect to anyone outside of Elon Musk and Vladmir Putin.

Mr. Prevo, WHOM I FORGIVE for attempting to hurt me with his vicious and demeaning written assault, is merely playing the role of the smoldering ember that Trump has lit in the belly of America since 2016.

We, as a nation, are on fire, folks.

The thing is this: we are all in the same house that’s burning down while Trump’s rhetoric feeds the flames.

The lesson for us, I think, if we are to defeat this tyranny infecting our country is to realize that if we are to survive, we have to learn to fight TOGETHER.

Sure, you CAN fight fire with fire, but you can also fight it with respect and intelligence.

You fight it with a plan. You fight it with action. You fight it with discipline. You fight it with perseverance.

See, it’s OK to be fearful and to cry and feel all is lost. But it’s not OK to stay that way.

After you’ve dried your tears, face your fears and use respect, intelligence, a plan, action and discipline to persevere.

OUR January 6th does not have to be THEIR J6.

We don’t storm our own Capitol and show the world just how flimsy our safety and security can be.

We don’t attack law enforcement officials and deface the corridors of our own government.

We don’t threaten those who don’t share our views.

We are not a mob. We are Americans.
