Blog Business

Happy holidays to all

I hope 2026 will be a good and peaceful year for everyone. My contributions at IN-SIGHTS have become a little less frequent because of good and bad personal issues. I trust 2026 will be different.

In the coming year, I expect to pay attention to Canada West Forum. Several qualified people are involved in this project of participatory media. We aim to feature experts who will offer evidence-based explanations of issues, and answer probing questions from interested citizens.

This will not be a partisan effort. We aim to circulate factual information from broad sources and enable people to reach their own conclusions. The project will only succeed if many epistemophiles join us.

IN-SIGHTS readers will have noticed lengthy but informative comments and a few posts not written by me. I invite others to submit items that would be relevant to people in Western Canada.

Again, thanks for all the kind greetings, messages, and financial support for IN-SIGHTS. This blog will soon be entering its 18th year. The required research and inquiries have allowed me to become more informed and introduced me to many fine people.

I hope IN-SIGHTS will last another 18 years, but my cardiologist and other docs might be doubtful.

Now enjoy a traditional (at least since 1978) Christmas song written by Randy Brooks. It was but inspired by the composer’s uncle Foster Brooks, a comedian who seldom consumed alcohol but gained fame by pretending he did.

  1. What a thoughtful and impactful message. It’s clear that IN-SIGHTS is much more than a blog; it’s a community pillar built on integrity, curiosity, and your dedicated stewardship.

Thank you for sharing this update. It resonates deeply.

Wishing you a truly good and peaceful 2026. It’s heartening to hear that, despite the personal tides that have pulled you away, you are looking forward with such constructive vision. The Canada West Forum project sounds like a vital and necessary initiative—exactly the kind of antidote to partisanship and misinformation that our public discourse needs. The goal of enabling people with evidence to “reach their own conclusions” is a noble and democratic one. I have no doubt many “epistemophiles” will be drawn to it.

Your invitation for contributions is a generous way to ensure the blog continues to thrive as a collective resource for Western Canada. The fact that it’s nearing 18 years is an extraordinary testament to your commitment. The knowledge shared and the community built are a lasting legacy.

Please know that your work is deeply valued. The research you do, the conversations you foster, and the standard you set for factual, nuanced discussion make a real difference. We are all grateful for it.

As for your cardiologist’s opinion… well, perhaps the best prescription is the intellectual engagement and community support that IN-SIGHTS clearly provides. Here’s to the next chapter, whatever shape it takes, and to your health and well-being being at the center of it.

With sincere appreciation for all you do.
