Porn for old folks

Tony Bourdain, exuding uncontrived deference atypical of New Yorkers, shared a table with Korean-American food superstar David Chang. They were at Chang’s  momofuku ssam bar, one of the most in-demand pleasure houses in Gotham. Bourdain says:

“David Chang is changing the entire landscape of dining in America, serving radically different, unusually inexpensive, fearlessly creative food.

After plates of Peking style roasted pork belly, Bourdain mused:

I would cheerfully dispense with any number of my early sexual experiences in favor of a good hunk of pork like this.

Yes Tony, it’s changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes. Nothing remains quite the same.

  1. Norm,
I was in NYC with a friend earlier this summer, staying in the Lower Eastside and we walked past this restaurant with no name on it just a small 'M' on the window. It was Momofuko and it was packed. We stood in line and got in within fifteen minutes. It was fantastic – Pork Belly ramen, carpaccio salad, a kind of fusion succotash etc…

Then we went to their bakery take out around the corner and I got a creamed corn soft ice cream. My friend got 'crack' pie. As in you can't not eat it and order another. Fan.. tas… tic.

I'm going to have to pay more attention to your food related blog, or maybe not. This post just makes me want to eat.

  2. Hmmm. Fine dining. That reminds me of, chomp, chomp, Chong, chomping her way through, $6,000, of tax payers money. There are hundreds of families, who, don't have that much money, for food in a year, to feed themselves and their children. Disgraceful.
