Denial is a defence mechanism…

A 2022 article in Psychology Today is worth attention. The author is the late Charles M. Johnston, MD, psychiatrist, author, and futurist.

1 Denial is a defense mechanism in which an individual refuses to recognize or acknowledge objective facts or experiences. It’s an unconscious process that serves to protect the person from discomfort or anxiety.

  1. Thought-provoking post! It’s scary how denial of critical issues like climate change can have severe consequences. Agree that materialism and environmental disregard aren’t sustainable. We need to face reality and work together to build a better future for our planet and ourselves. Let’s be the generation that chooses action over denial!
