Planet Earth in need of palliative care?

A knowledgeable friend believes that we have passed a threshold, beyond which our world will suffer irreversible changes in the climate system. He says Planet Earth now needs palliative care.

Another science based YouTube site worth paying attention to is by German theoretical physicist Sabine Hossenfelder. She is not afraid to speak against common opinions. On this one, pay attention to her conclusions. Because of scientific uncertainty, things may actually be worse than typically projected. Watch these videos, then be more worried than you were.

  1. The planet will be fine, it’s us humans that will going away. It will just be another mass extinction as the planets environment moves away from the levels that are conducive to human existence. We will join the list of countless species that existed and disappeared due to the planets continually changing biosphere.

    • I agree, except it’s too bad for other life forms that will perish along with us. And not all humans are equally responsible for the climate disaster. You might say the industrial age has been a two-century-long disaster.
