Minutes after I placed a link on Facebook to the IN-SIGHTS article Road to Dictatorship, the post was removed. Facebook labelled it spam, which is typically defined as irrelevant or inappropriate advertising and messages sent on the internet. The article had no advertising.
Instead, it linked to Trump’s White House, The Atlantic magazine, a prestigious research institute at a Swedish university, and a legal resource centre.
Worth about C$280 billion, Mark Zuckerberg is the world’s third-wealthiest person. He is CEO and controlling shareholder of Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Threads, WhatsApp and about 90 acquired businesses). Zuckerberg understands that controlling the flow of information is vital when the objective is to replace democracy with autocracy.
That is not to say that Facebook’s head guy reads individual posts and decides what suits his purposes. Instead, minions are left to create machine learning tools that identify unwanted content.
The situation here would be amusing if it were not important in the world beyond a modest little commentary site like IN-SIGHTS. Facebook already prevents Canadians from linking to news stories. It is a little less diligent in preventing the spread of anti-democratic violence.

In British Columbia, several sites are focused on providing useful information. All are limited because they lack financial resources. None are controlled by multi-billionaires.

It is possible — though quite unlikely — that someone posted a complaint about your post out of spite, and FB police agreed with them.
I’ve tried making complaints about obvious bots, trollers or racist remarks and the automated answers come back that FB is allowing them, as they meet their “Community Standards.”
In your case, I suspect something more insidious.
Would it be worth others trying to post, as an experiment?

I am sure the removal of my post was machine generated as opposed to a complaint. It happened almost immediately, so there was too little time for an offended person to make a complaint.

Facebook is no longer a Social media tool, it is now a politcal tool to shape ones politcal thoughts. Facebook allows all sorts of conspiracy theories, and famous “fake news” and alternative facts.
Facebook makes its money on information, either through advertising or using its algorithms to target groups of peoples with similiar thoughts. Thus “UnNews” becomes the “News”.
This is important because adhering to the “Goebbels Gambit” of “repeating lies often enough, the public begin to believe it”, generates more revenue.
Facebook is not what it wants you to believe it is, rather it is a harbinger of Orwell’s 1984.
