Saving or foregoing oil dollars is a choice

On the day Jason Kenney’s Alberta announced their single year budget deficit will exceed $24 billion, Norway advises it’s national wealth fund had passed C$1.52 trillion in value.

In numbers, that’s C$1,524,071,886,000, or $280,500 for every Norwegian resident.

In the year ended March 2020, Alberta reported the Heritage Savings Trust Fund had declined in value by C$1.92 billion to C$16.33 billion.

In numbers, that’s C$16,328,000,000, or $3,687 for each Albertan.
